This Privacy Policy explains how the Jyotica mobile application (the "App" or "Service"), provided by Windermere Labs ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, shares, and retains your information, and the choices you have. It also includes an important Disclaimer and our Data Retention Policy.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Disclaimer (Please Read First)
- The App provides Vedic astrology, horoscope, panchang, compatibility, muhurta, and related content together with AI-generated text. It is offered for entertainment and informational purposes only.
- Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Astrological interpretations are not based on scientific evidence.
- Do not rely on the App for important decisions — including those relating to health, medical, legal, financial, career, relationship, travel, or safety matters.
- We make no warranty or guarantee of correctness, reliability, completeness, or fitness for any purpose, whether express or implied.
- You use the App at your own risk. For professional matters, consult a qualified professional.

2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of data:
a) Information you provide
- Account details from sign-in (e.g. name, email, profile photo) via Google Sign-In.
- Birth details you enter — date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth — used to generate charts, predictions, and recommendations.
- Chat messages, questions, prompts, and other content you submit to the AI features.
- Any feedback, support requests, or reports you send us.
- Location (only with your permission) — the place/location you enter and, only if you explicitly grant location access, your device location — used for panchang, muhurta, and sunrise/sunset calculations. We do not collect device location automatically; you control this permission and can turn it off at any time in your device settings.
b) Information collected automatically
- IP address and device information — device model, operating system and version, app version, language, time zone, and similar technical identifiers.
- Analytics data — feature usage, screens viewed, taps, session activity, streaks, and engagement events.
- Crash and diagnostic logs — error reports, stack traces, and performance data used to detect and fix problems.
- Push notification tokens — to deliver notifications you have enabled.
We do not intentionally collect special-category data beyond the birth details and location you choose to provide. Please do not submit confidential, sensitive, or unnecessary personal information in chats.
3. Why We Collect It (Purposes)
We use your information to:
- Provide, personalize, and operate the App's features and your charts/readings.
- Generate AI responses to your queries.
- Authenticate you and secure your account.
- Send notifications you have enabled.
- Measure and improve the Service (analytics).
- Debug, monitor, and fix errors and abuse.
- Maintain security, prevent fraud and misuse, and comply with legal obligations.
We may also use your data to improve our services, for debugging, and for analytics. We do not use your personal data or chats to train AI models.
4. Human Review
Yes — humans may review your data, including chat messages, where reasonably necessary to:
- debug, maintain, and improve the Service;
- investigate suspected abuse, fraud, security incidents, or violations of our Terms; or
- comply with legal obligations.
Access is limited to authorized personnel and service providers on a need-to-know basis.
5. Third-Party Services We Share Data With
The App relies on the following third-party services to function. When data is shared with them, their own privacy policies and terms apply, and they may process data in countries other than your own.

We share only the data needed for each service to perform its function. We do not sell your personal data.

6. Chat Storage
To be explicit about how your chats are handled:
- Chats may be stored on your device and/or on our servers.
- Chats may be processed automatically (including by AI providers) to generate responses.
- Chats may be reviewed by humans for debugging, security, and abuse prevention.
- Chats may be retained for security, audit, and legal-compliance purposes.
- Chats may be used to debug and improve the Service. We do not use your chats to train AI models.
Please do not include confidential, financial, medical, or other sensitive personal information in your chats. While we do not attach identifying details (such as your name or contact information) to AI requests, we cannot control information you choose to type into a chat. We display a warning in the chat for this reason. If you voluntarily share personal or sensitive information in your messages, you do so at your own risk and are responsible for it.
7. Data Storage & Security
- Account credentials and sensitive values are stored using device secure storage; the local database is encrypted at rest.
- We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data.
- No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention Policy
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Indicative retention periods:

After the applicable period, data is deleted or anonymized.
9. Your Rights & Account Deletion
Subject to applicable law, you may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
Account deletion. You can request deletion of your account from within the App or by emailing us (Section 11). When you delete your account:
- Deletion is permanent and immediate. Your account is closed straight away, and you will not be able to sign in or register again with it. There is no grace period, and deletion cannot be undone — please save anything you want to keep before deleting.
- We delete or anonymize your personal data — such as your profile, birth details, and chats — within 90 days (and longer where necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, backups, audit, or to comply with legal obligations).
- We permanently retain a minimal account record — including your account identifier (such as your user ID and the email address linked to the account) and the deletion date. We keep this indefinitely to enforce the permanent closure of your account, prevent re-registration, recognize returning users, and protect against fraud and abuse.
- Some data already shared with or processed by third-party providers (e.g. AI providers such as OpenAI), to limit this, we do not share identifying details such as your exact name or contact information with AI providers — only the birth details needed to generate responses, which on their own do not identify you personally.
To exercise any right, contact us at the address in Section 11. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
10. Children
The App is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law in your jurisdiction (e.g. 18, or the minimum digital-consent age). We do not knowingly collect data from such children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us so we can remove it.

12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
